FAQ

  • How much time would I be expected to spend in the office?
Our approach to hybrid working requires 8 days per month in our office in Brighton. For those working less than full-time, the expectation will be pro-rata based on your working pattern
  • Is there travel involved?
There is likely to be some, though the precise amount differs role-by-role. Whilst TPR itself is fully Brighton based, many of our key stakeholders are in government and industry are based in London and elsewhere.
  • How do I put forward the strongest possible case for my candidacy?
When you apply, you will be asked to submit a CV, a supporting statement and a short video explaining your motivation for applying.

We would recommend that your CV should be chronological and contain current and previous roles, including role responsibilities and achievements, with measurable indications of the scale and impact of your role.

The supporting statement is your answer to the criteria outlined in the person specification which can be found in the candidate information pack. You should aim for 2 to 3 sides of A4, tailored to provide specific examples that demonstrate your ability to meet the essential and desirable requirements. The best statements will be those that provide examples with insight into your personal contribution as a leader and tangible data to highlight the outcomes and impact you have delivered. There is no single correct structure to doing this – some people like a stream of prose, others a more structured bullet point/sub heading list – but regardless of this, clear and concise communication is part of the success of a good supporting statement.

  • I’ve never seen video used in an application process before?
For the video section of the application, the intent is to provide you with an opportunity to showcase your interest and excitement in a way that allows your personality and communication style to shine through. We are not looking for huge production value – a webcam or phone camera is absolutely fine – but do ensure you answer the question directly.
  • Can I apply for more than one role?
Yes. Each application will be taken on its individual merits and assessed against the specific criteria for each role, so do tailor your supporting statements as the criteria are different for each.
  • What types of due diligence will be undertaken
For all shortlisted candidates, due diligence will be carried out that includes adverse press analysis, a social media screening, and checks on major registers including Companies House, the Charity Commission and the Insolvency Register. This is to ensure that there is nothing in the public domain liable to cause embarrassment to The Pensions Regulator or compromise your ability to carry out the role with integrity and impartiality.
  • Can I speak to someone if I have any further questions?
