Description
This is an exciting time to join The Pensions Regulator (TPR). Our new corporate strategy outlines a bold and challenging vision of how pensions regulation should evolve to keep pace with a change in the scale and nature of the industry. We are at the start of that journey. Last year we established a new Strategy, Policy and Analysis (SPA) directorate as TPR’s creative engine bringing together strategy, policy, external risk and analysis to evolve our regulatory framework and to support innovation that delivers better outcomes for savers. Across TPR, including SPA, we are committed to fostering a regulatory environment that encourages and supports innovation in the interests of savers. We take a flexible, collaborative approach—co-designing regulation with industry and always keeping savers’ needs at the heart of what we do.
Our Director of Evidence and External Risk is responsible for designing, implementing and leading a broad and effective expert capability, crossing evidence, insight, risk and analysis, and deploying people, processes and technology to best effect to shape and drive effective regulation in savers’ interests. This will involve routinely and systematically analysing risk across pensions, the wider financial eco-system and society, commissioning or undertaking in-depth research using a wide range of methodologies to build TPR’s understanding of the drivers and barriers associated with achieving good saver outcomes in specific areas of our regulatory activity.
We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in analysis, risk and evidence, ideally gained within the financial services or regulatory sector and a professional qualification, or equivalent experience, in evidence-based research, data analysis, and/or risk assessment methodologies. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to develop and lead high performing, diverse and expert teams.
With strong strategic capabilities, you will engage effectively at all levels of the organisation, ensuring that collaboration and influence are at the heart of the way you work. We need inspirational leaders who can demonstrate experience of taking people with them on a journey of transformational change. Culture is as important as capability, and you will demonstrate a values set in line with those we have developed at TPR.
Everyone at TPR plays an important role in helping to keep more than £2trn of savings safe. We are committed to bringing people into TPR who are ready to make a difference and put UK savers at the heart of what we do.
