Description
This is an exciting time to join The Pensions Regulator (TPR). Our new corporate strategy outlines a bold and challenging vision of how pensions regulation should evolve to keep pace with a change in the scale and nature of the industry. We are at the start of that journey. Last year we established a new Strategy, Policy and Analysis (SPA) directorate as TPR’s creative engine bringing together strategy, policy, external risk and analysis to evolve our regulatory framework and to support innovation that delivers better outcomes for savers. Across TPR, including SPA, we are committed to fostering a regulatory environment that encourages and supports innovation in the interests of savers. We take a flexible, collaborative approach—co-designing regulation with industry and always keeping savers’ needs at the heart of what we do.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join us as Director of Pensions Reform. This pivotal role responsible for shaping and delivering transformative pension policies that ensure long-term sustainability, fairness, and resilience. This role requires a deep understanding of policy, and the economic and social impacts of pension systems, as well as the ability to work at the highest levels across government and industry. The postholder will play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration across TPR, working closely with colleagues to align strategic objectives and operational delivery. They will also convene and bring together internal and external expertise, creating inclusive forums for insight, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making.
This role brings together policy leadership with a strong focus on influencing and impact, ensuring that reform initiatives are grounded in evidence, aligned with organisational priorities, and capable of driving meaningful change for savers. The role will also play a central part in the policy delivery function of SPA, ensuring that critical policy issues are shaped collaboratively and that internal stakeholders are brought together at a pre-ExCo stage to align on direction and impact.
With strong strategic capabilities, you will engage effectively at all levels of the organisation, ensuring that collaboration and influence are at the heart of the way you work. We need inspirational leaders who can demonstrate experience of taking people with them on a journey of transformational change. Culture is as important as capability, and you will demonstrate a values set in line with those we have developed at TPR.
Everyone at TPR plays an important role in helping to keep more than £2trn of savings safe. We’re committed to bringing people into TPR who are ready to make a difference and put UK savers at the heart of what we do.
