Description
This is an exciting time to join The Pensions Regulator (TPR). Our corporate strategy outlines a bold and challenging vision of how pensions regulation should evolve to keep pace with a change in the scale and nature of the industry and with transformative legislative and policy changes. We are at the start of that journey. Last year we established a new Strategy, Policy and Analysis (SPA) directorate as TPR’s creative engine bringing together strategy, policy, external risk and analysis to evolve our regulatory framework and to support innovation that delivers better outcomes for savers. In SPA, we are seeking to develop a regulatory environment that encourages and supports innovation in savers’ interests – being flexible in our approach, and co-designing regulation with industry with a focus on savers’ needs.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our executive team as Executive Director of Strategy, Policy and Analysis. Reporting to the Chief Executive and as a member of our Executive Leadership Team and board, you will lead a diverse team and work across TPR and with a range of external stakeholders. Your work will influence many aspects of what we do and your role will contribute in a visible way to the leadership of the whole organisation as well as your direct leadership of our strategy, policy and analysis teams which are critical to delivering the impact we are committed to. You will also represent TPR externally, influencing and shaping the broader pensions and regulatory landscape through thought leadership, engagement with industry stakeholders, and close partnership with government in delivering on the ambitions of the pensions reform programme.
We welcome applications from candidates with successful and significant strategy and policy experience, gained at senior level in a complex organisation with wide ranging reach and impact. You will have proven impact engaging at board level and able to show how your leadership has built cohesive and high-performing teams of experts. Your experience will span strategic influence, policy development and delivery and leadership, with the ability to win credibility with our key stakeholders within TPR, government and the pensions industry. We need inspirational leaders who can demonstrate experience of taking people with them on a journey of transformational change. Culture is as important as capability, and you will demonstrate a values set in line with those we have developed at TPR.
Everyone at TPR plays an important role in helping to keep more than £2trn of savings safe. We’re committed to bringing people into TPR who are ready to make a difference and put UK savers at the heart of what we do.
